My Preschool Teacher LOVES the new Science of Reading Book, "Ready to Read"

I ordered the book, "Ready to Read Using the Science of Reading in Pre-K and Kindergarten" for my pre-k teacher. She has not fully dived in but is looking forward to learning more about the Science of Reading and how the information in this book, can support her understanding of how children learn literacy skills and how to build on their current skills throughout the day.

Great resource inside and outside of the classroom!

As an early childhood educator, I’ve read a lot about the Science of Reading—but Ready to Read was the first book that truly felt written for pre-K and kindergarten. The strategies are developmentally appropriate, practical, and grounded in how young children actually learn. Nothing feels rushed or overly academic, and I appreciated how clearly the research is explained without oversimplifying it.
What surprised me most was how useful the book became outside my classroom. As a parent, I found myself using the same techniques with my own child—supporting oral language, building background knowledge, and making literacy playful and joyful rather than pressured. The guidance helped me feel confident that I was doing the right things, both as a teacher and as a mom.
